The middle value after sorting the data from smallest to largest.

Median = the value in the middle position
The median follows position, so the far-right value does not move the middle case.
Example
For 2, 4, and 100, the median is 4.
How It Works
The median answers a position question: what value sits in the middle of the ordered list? It is often better than the for typical income, house prices, waiting times, and other skewed quantities.
